ATTWATER’S PRAIRIE CHICKENis an endangered subspecies of the Greater Prairie Chicken, threatened mainly by loss of habitat, can be found on the Western Gulf costal grasslands of Texas and Louisiana. During mating season the males attract the females by emitting a booming “Woo-Woo” from their throat sack.
